studio DANNY SCHOLTZE

Danny Scholtze (Eindhoven 1976) studeerde aan de Koninklijke Academie voor kunst en vormgeving te 's-Hertogenbosch. Hij maakt onder andere ruimtelijke installaties, sculptuur, foto's en  tekeningen.

Tentoonstellingen en artist in residence-projecten volgen in kunstenaarsinitiatieven en galeries in de Europese Unie. Museaal is Scholtze te zien met een solopresentatie in het van Abbemuseum te Eindhoven. In combinatie met zijn artistieke werk is Scholtze nauw betrokken bij de kunstpraktijk door deel te nemen in gesprekken, aan lezingen en het onderwijs. 

Zijn werk bevindt zich in diverse particuliere kunstcollecties. Werken zijn online te koop vanuit de studio.

Danny Scholtze (Eindhoven 1976) studied at the Royal Academy of Art and Design in 's-Hertogenbosch. He makes spatial installations, sculptures, photo's and drawings.

Exhibitions and artist in residence projects follow in artist initiatives and galleries in the European Union. Scholtze can be seen in a museum with a solo presentation in the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. In combination with his artistic work, Scholtze is closely involved in the art practice by participating in conversations, lectures and education.

Het project ANTITECTURE wil mensen uitnodigen oude manieren van kijken en denken los te laten en er nieuwe voor in de plaats te creëren. Steeds met een nieuwe blik te kijken en de wereld om ons heen te onderzoeken en ons te verwonderen. Een essentie in mijn werk is om de leegte op te zoeken en te ervaren. De kunst te oefenen je nergens aan te hechten. Niet aan een overtuiging, idee of materieel object. Dit met als doel een zo groot mogelijke mate van vrijheid en onafhankelijkheid te ervaren. De kunstwerken die ik maak zijn ruimtes, shelters voor de geest. Architectonische ruimtes die de beschouwer uitnodigen om de geest leeg te maken door op te gaan in de functieloze en betekenisloze, ruimte zonder menselijke schaal waarin je steeds dieper kunt verdwijnen via doorgangen die naar een andere ruimte leiden. Een soort metafoor voor onze geest.

The ANTITECTURE project wants to invite people to let go of old ways of looking and thinking and to create new ones in their place. Always to look with a new perspective and to investigate the world around us and to be amazed. An essence in my work is to seek out and experience emptiness. To practice the art of not being attached to anything. Not to a belief, idea or material object. This with the aim of experiencing the greatest possible degree of freedom and independence. The works of art that I make are spaces, shelters for the mind. Architectural spaces that invite the viewer to empty the mind by merging into the functionless and meaningless space without human scale in which you can disappear ever deeper via passages that lead to another space. A kind of metaphor for our mind.
